The project involved building a flex application to display the map of New Mexico with road closures, road construction, and other advisories displayed as icons on the map. When hovering over an icon, a window pops up to display full information about the advisory. Department of Transportation staff login securely to post advisories. Upon posting, the advisory is displayed on the map in real time.

    Title: US 54 northbound and southbound from mile marker 81 to mile marker 82
    Description: The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) has made a preliminary award of contract to La Calerita Construction, LLC out of Las Cruces for a new railroad overpass on US54 just north of the Village of Tularosa. The project amount is $4,607,172 and consists of the removal of the existing railroad overpass and the construction of a brand new construction overpass. The new bridge will be built at the location of the existing bridge and will have wider shoulders with concrete wall barrier. During construction, there will be a detour constructed on the south side of the bridge. The detour railroad crossing will have gates and flashers. Work is expected to begin in late March/early April and will last approximately one year. NMDOT Project Manager is Chuck Brill- 575-626-9882. Further information will be available once Construction Begins.

    Description: Difficult driving conditions. NM 126 mm 13-25.(End of pavement to Fish Hatchery) Road is snow packed and icy. Visibility is good. Please drive with caution, reduce your speed and obey all posted traffic signs. This event will be updated as conditions change.
